Scandinavia likes fish [Comic strip]

My Italian friend Giuseppe came upon this fabulous comic strip called “Scandinavia and the World”, a hilarious collection of funnies that take on the differences between Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland… and the rest of the world, particularly the USA.

As an outsider living in Denmark I can surely relate many of these comics to my daily experiences here, and I hope that you will like them too Smile.

Here comes a sample, with the rest being on their website.

Onwards to the Nordic Game Jam!

This weekend the Nordic Game Jam will be taking place at the IT University of Copenhagen, and I will be attending as a game designer.

For those who don’t know, the Nordic Game Jam, part of the Global Game Jam that takes place in many other places in the world at the same time, is a concentration of game designers, programmers, artists and more during an entire weekend to form groups and create innovative game ideas in just 48 hours.

There will also be several important game designers around, both hosting the event and as guest speakers.

Obviously as much as I would like to say that I will be blogging from the game jam, with a 48-hour time limit that will probably be… hard.

Anyway if you’re interested in learning more about the Game Jams or if you want to read about it as it happens this weekend, you can check out the Global Game Jam website.

Evil videogame designers

I recently stumbled upon the following comic strip (in Spanish) and I just couldn’t let the opportunity go by to translate the entire comic to English.

The following picture goes with a special dedication for the designers of Bad Ass Monster, a videogame about which I will write soon enough. Oh, and of course this also applies to the rest of my fellow classmates at the ITU!

Thanks to Elfangor for the original comic!

Crunch – study – crunch

Norreport nevado

Would love to update more often, but the bad weather and the need to study for Monday’s oral exam on Game Design is not letting me do so.

Soon though I will keep up with my blog.

Back to Copenhagen

Well, there it goes.

The Christmas break is officially over for me now, with me now returning to Copenhagen one week ahead of my Game Design oral exam (for which I have, of course, been preparing these days as well).

But I also come with a couple new ideas both in relation to my Master’s and to this blog.

Right now though the studying comes ahead.

The picture is from New Year’s eve in Jaca.

Intel Core 2nd Generation amazing promo video

Intel recently announced its latest generation of Core i3, i5 and i7 processors (as well as their Atom line) which will no doubt be a step forward in personal computing (some like Valve’s CEO Gabe Newell are going as far as to say that these processors are a game changer for console-like experiences on the PC).

But as much as I could go on to talk about these processors (I’m a technology enthusiast after all), in my blog I will only be posting their amazing promotional video.

Seriously, this is one video worth watching for it’s extremely well done execution. What are you waiting for? Click on play right now and don’t forget to play it in full screen!
